Tasting Notes
The last couple of vintages have seen a return to classic seasonal patterns, where a cold rainy winter prepares the vines for warm temperatures later. In 2018, precipitation carried on into spring, extending the growing period several weeks past the preceding year. There were also fewer heat spikes this season, allowing the fruit to ripen at a nice steady pace, and providing slightly larger yields of very well-balanced fruit.

52% Zinfandel, 37% Cabernet Sauvignon, 11% Cabernet Franc
Tasting Notes
The Cabernet Sauvignon and Zinfandel in the 2018 Cinema perfectly complement each other. There are recognizable baking spices from the Zinfandel and a firm tannin structure from the Cabernet Sauvignon. This is a fun blend to make, as there are many options. The art is to find the right Zinfandel lot to pair with the correct Cabernet lot. There are lots of jammy red fruits on entry, and a full mid-palate. The Cabernet provides ripe plum fruit. The blend is well balanced and does not overwhelm the senses. The finish is lengthy, with a recognizable American oak sweetness.

An abundantly flavorful Pinot displaying vibrant tones of red cherry and pomegranate. The Russian River Valley’s loam and alluvial soil compositions create a very rich and fragrant Pinot Noir that offers pronounced floral notes and a distinct earthy character.

Tasting Notes
A Zinfandel that pushes the envelope of decadence with voluptuous, concentrated flavors of fruit jam, chocolate and vanilla. Small amounts of Petite Sirah are added to the blend to create a sturdier structure and more complexity.
